Unit 7 Review - Frequency distributions

Frequency distributions

Frequency distributions are commonly seen as a table or histogram.

Example:

Joe flipped a coin until he got "heads." He recorded how many times he needed to flip heads and then repeated the experiment 20 times.
Here are his results: 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 1, 3, 8, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 1.

Better than a list, a frequency table or histogram would show the data clearly.

Note: The pair (2, 7) in the table means that Joe needed to flip the coin 2 times to get "heads" and it happened so 7 times.
Note: The bar in the histogram over the 8 means that only one time Joe needed to flip the coin 8 times before he got "heads."
